Q. Is this the same thing as the foam interface pad, or is it better? I am having difficulty getting a smooth finish on flat skimmed surfaces without the foam interface pad, so I really want to know what to order. We do a lot of skimming with easy sand joint compound.

The best option is to get the Planex Sanding Pad Set, which also includes the foam interface pad. This will help you get ultra-smooth surfaces, help with feathering, and our customers report being able to achieve a level 5 finish with this pad set. Link...
