This is a cordless blower kit designed for clearing dust and debris from shops, decks and jobsites, with everything needed to start working out of the box.

The Makita XBU05Z 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Compact Blower is a lightweight handheld cleanup tool built for fast clearing of dust, chips, dirt, and light debris around jobsites, garages, patios, and workshops. This is a cordless handheld blower designed for cleanup work. Model Number: XBU05Z. If you already run Makita 18V LXT batteries, this is the kind of tool that ends up getting used more than you expected because it is quick to grab, easy to carry, and strong enough for everyday messes.

What matters here is the balance between size and output. Makita rates it at up to 219 MPH max air velocity and 113 CFM max air volume from a Makita-built high-torque motor. On the job, that means it is well suited for blowing off benches, cleaning out a truck bed, clearing sawdust after cutting, pushing dirt out of a garage, or cleaning off walkways and hard surfaces. The 3-speed setup is a big part of the appeal because not every cleanup job needs full blast. Lower speed helps when you do not want to scatter dust everywhere, while high speed gives you the punch to move heavier debris faster.

Makita kept the form factor compact at only 20-3/8 inches long, and that shorter overall length makes a difference in tighter spaces. It is easier to work around shelving, machinery, cabinets, trailers, and workstations than with a bulkier outdoor blower. The ergonomic shape and rubberized soft-grip handle also matter more than they sound on paper. A blower like this gets picked up and put down constantly, so comfort and control are not just nice extras, they are what make the tool practical for repeated use throughout the day.

Weight is another reason this model makes sense as a dedicated cleanup tool. The blower weighs 2.7 lbs without a battery and 4.1 lbs with battery, which keeps it easy to run one-handed for quick jobs. That is especially useful when you are moving from area to area, cleaning overhead corners, or reaching into awkward spots in a shop or work trailer. This is not trying to replace a large backpack blower for major yard cleanup. It is built for the kind of regular maintenance work that happens before, during, and after the main job.

The Makita XBU05Z 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Compact Blower runs on the Makita 18V LXT battery platform and is compatible with Makita 18V Lithium-Ion batteries that have the Star symbol. Makita also notes Star Protection Computer Controls, which allows the tool and battery to communicate in real time to help protect against overload, over-discharge, and overheating. That platform compatibility matters if you are already invested in Makita because it lets you add a useful cleanup tool without buying into another battery system. This is sold as a tool only, so the battery and charger are not included.

In terms of motor design, this model uses a brushed motor. That is worth knowing if you are comparing blower options across the Makita lineup. The upside here is straightforward performance in a compact, lightweight package that is aimed at convenience and everyday use. It is a practical tool for contractors, maintenance crews, cabinet installers, remodelers, woodworkers, and serious DIY users who want quick cleanup without cords, fuel, or hauling around something oversized.

If your work involves constant dust, chips, and surface debris, this cordless blower earns its place fast. It is especially useful for people who already own Makita LXT batteries and want a dedicated blower for shop cleanup, jobsite touch-ups, and property maintenance around hard surfaces. If you need a blower for heavy seasonal leaf cleanup across a large yard, step up to a bigger unit. If you want a compact Makita blower that is easy to keep nearby and ready to work, this one makes a lot of sense.

Makita BL1850BDC2X1 18V LXT Battery and Rapid Optimum Charger Starter Pack

The Makita BL1850BDC2X1 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Battery and Rapid Optimum Charger Starter Pack is a battery and charger kit for powering Makita 18V LXT cordless tools. This is a battery starter pack designed for anyone buying bare tools who needs a dependable power supply, and it includes two BL1850B 18V LXT 5.0Ah lithium-ion batteries and one DC18RC Rapid Optimum Charger.

Two 5.0Ah batteries are the practical setup for real work. With the DC18RC charging a 5.0Ah pack in 45 minutes or less, you can run one battery while the second charges and rarely stop for power. Each BL1850B provides up to 65% more run time per charge than the BL1830 3.0Ah battery, and weighs 1.4 pounds.

The BL1850B uses Star Protection Computer Controls to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. An integrated LED charge level indicator reads out remaining charge. The impact-resistant outer case has a shock-absorbing inner liner, and sixteen contact terminals help maintain a solid connection under vibration. Low self-discharge means a pack is ready to use even after sitting in storage, and the batteries are rated to deliver consistent power in cold weather down to -4 degrees Fahrenheit.

The DC18RC Rapid Optimum Charger has a built-in communication system that reads the battery's chip and actively controls current, voltage and temperature during charging. A built-in fan circulates air through the battery as it charges to cool it for faster charge times.

These batteries fit Makita 18V LXT tools with the Star symbol or a yellow battery receiver. Makita's 18V LXT system is one of the largest cordless lines built on an 18V slide-style lithium-ion battery, covering drills, impact drivers, saws, grinders, outdoor tools and more.

Buy this pack if you are starting on Makita 18V LXT with bare tools, or if your current packs are worn out and you want a fresh pair of 5.0Ah batteries plus a rapid charger in one purchase.

</details><details id="product-whats-included" class="acc" open>

What's in the Box

(1) Makita XBU05Z 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Blower

(2) 18V LXT Lithium-Ion 5.0Ah Batteries (BL1850B)

(1) 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Rapid Optimum Charger (DC18RC)

Includes (2) 5.0Ah batteries and (1) rapid charger from the BL1850BDC2X1 starter pack.

</details><details id="product-key-specifications" class="acc" open>

Key Specifications

XBU05Z

Voltage (V)

18V

Power Source

Cordless

Blower Type

Handheld

Max.
