The extended tear-drop shape and large handle give you the extra support you need for flawless edge profiles. Machined from solid phenolic on our CNC gantry mill, the StabilMax has perfectly located mounting holes for the most popular trim routers on the market. For even more versatility, the base is milled to accept Porter-Cable style template guide bushings. But we didn't stop at just fitting in the guide bushings, we included a centering pin so you can locate the guide bushing perfectly concentric with the collet.

The Base Your Trim Router Should Have Had from Day One

The concept of a trim router is great. If you're just flush trimming a lamination or rounding over an edge, why do you need a massive router? But their compact size contributes to their instability, particularly at square corners. StabilMax gives you leverage to keep the router perfectly vertical even when most of the router is hanging out in space. Just keep the extended portion of the base toward the center of the project and apply a little pressure down on the handle. That's it. Physics always wins.

Power tool manufacturers have worked for a couple decades to pack more power into ever-smaller packages. Just a few years ago no one would have thought of using a trim router to do anything more than flush cut an over-sized piece of laminate. But now they're expected to do jobs that larger routers used to do. That's why we built template guide bushing capability into StabilMax. But just cutting the opening to accept Porter-Cable style template guide bushings wasn't enough. We included a centering pin. Just chuck the centering pin in the collet, adjust the depth so the pin fits the inside of the bushing and tighten the plate to your router base. The holes are just slightly over-sized and counter-bored rather than counter-sunk, so you can tweak the base to perfect concentricity. Now your template guide bushing projects will come out perfectly.

StabilMax fits most corded and cordless palm routers from Bosch, DeWalt, Makita, Milwaukee, Porter-Cable, Ridgid and Ryobi.
