This collection brings all three Makita battery platforms together. 18V LXT packs run from the compact 2.0Ah to the 6.0Ah, with starter packs and single, dual port, 4-port, and automotive chargers. 40V max XGT packs include the 4.0Ah, 4.0Ah High Power, and 5.0Ah, with the DC40RA and DC40RB chargers. 12V max CXT starter packs cover the compact line. Adapters like the ADP10 and USB power sources fill the gaps between systems.
What to Look For
- Platform first. Packs do not cross platforms. Check whether your tool says 12V max CXT, 18V LXT, or 40V max XGT.
- One more pack. A second battery is the cheapest way to keep a tool working all day.
- Charger speed and ports. Rapid Optimum chargers and multi-port chargers cut downtime for crews.

Which Makita battery platform should I choose?
12V max CXT is for compact service and install tools. 18V LXT has the widest tool selection and runs X2 tools on two packs. 40V max XGT is for high-output saws and outdoor equipment. Building on one platform and adding a second only for specific tools keeps the number of chargers down.
What warranty covers Makita batteries and chargers?
Makita lithium-ion batteries and chargers carry a 3-year limited warranty across all three platforms. The ConnectX backpack power supply carries a 2-year warranty. Use of non-genuine or knock-off batteries is excluded.
