Outdoor Power Equipment FAQ

Which battery platform should I choose for yard tools?

Start with the platform your drills and saws already use, so batteries move between tools. Larger tools such as mowers and big blowers use dual-battery designs or higher-voltage packs like 60V MAX FLEXVOLT and 40V max XGT.

What is Milwaukee QUIK-LOK?

QUIK-LOK is Milwaukee's attachment system for the M18 FUEL power head. One motor drives a string trimmer, edger, brush cutter, articulating hedge trimmer, or pole saw head, plus an extension for reach.

What size chainsaw do I need?

For pruning and small limbs, a 6-inch or 8-inch pruning saw is easier to control. For storm cleanup and firewood, choose a 12-inch to 16-inch bar. Pole saws handle overhead limbs without a ladder.

Portable generator or home standby?

A portable generator like a DuroMax runs selected circuits or cords during an outage. A Generac home standby unit is installed with a transfer switch and starts on its own when grid power drops.
