Pruners
Cordless Pruners, Pruning Saws, and Hand Pruners
Pruners in this collection run from hand tools to battery-powered shears and pole saws. DeWALT offers the 20V MAX 1-1/2 in. shrub and limb pruner. Milwaukee has M12 brushless pruning shears, M18 brushless telescoping pole pruning shears, hand pruners, a lopper, folding and fixed pruning saws, and a 16-ft pole saw. Makita adds 18V LXT and 40V max XGT 6" pruning saws, an 8" articulating pole saw, and a cordless pruning shear. SKIL rounds it out with PWR CORE 20 pruning saws.
What to Look For
- Cut capacity. Hand pruners and cordless shears handle smaller branches. Pruning saws and pole saws take on thicker limbs.
- Reach. Telescoping pole shears and pole saws trim high branches from the ground without a ladder.
- Battery platform. Choose a pruner on the battery system you already run: DeWALT 20V MAX, Milwaukee M12 or M18, Makita LXT or XGT, or SKIL PWR CORE 20.
- Replacement blades. Spare blades are listed for the DeWALT DCPR320, Milwaukee pole shears, and Makita XPU01.

Pruners FAQ
Cordless pruning shear or pruning saw?
Cordless shears make clean, fast cuts on branches up to their rated size, which suits orchards and shrub work. Pruning saws handle thicker limbs and storm cleanup. Many landscapers carry both.
Do I need a pole pruner?
If you trim branches above shoulder height, yes. Telescoping pole shears and pole saws keep you on the ground, which is safer and faster than moving a ladder from tree to tree.
