Collins Tool
Collins Coping Feet and Miter Clamps for Trim Work
Collins Tool makes two problem solvers for finish carpenters. The Collins coping foot replaces a jigsaw's base so the saw can pivot and follow a molding profile, letting you cope crown and base with a power tool. Versions fit the Festool Carvex and the Mafell P1 cc, and a universal model fits most other jigsaws. Collins miter clamps hold miter joints tight while glue sets, sold in 4- and 12-packs, with the clamp pliers sold alone or in kits.
What to Look For
- Saw fit. Order the coping foot made for your jigsaw. The universal version covers saws without a dedicated foot.
- Clamp quantity. A 4-pack handles a door casing or picture frame. The 12-pack or 13-pack kit covers a room of trim.
- Pliers. The miter clamp pliers set and remove the clamps. Kits include them; clamp-only packs do not.

Collins Tool FAQ
What is a coping foot?
It replaces the stock jigsaw base with a small foot that lets the saw rock and pivot mid-cut. That lets you follow a molding profile to cut a coped joint without a hand coping saw.
Do I need the pliers to use Collins miter clamps?
Yes. The pliers open the clamps so you can set them across the joint. Buy a kit for your first set, then add clamp packs as you need more.
