What to Look For
- Gauge. 23-gauge pins leave nearly invisible holes for trim and glue-ups. 18 to 15-gauge nails hold casing, base, and door jambs.
- Max length. The model number hints at capacity: P630 tops out at 1-3/16", P635 at 1-3/8", and P650 at 2".
- Lockout. L models stop firing when the magazine is empty, which avoids dry fires and marks.
- Fasteners. Grex sells galvanized and 304 stainless pins and brads. Use stainless outdoors and on woods that stain.
