Knee Pads

Choosing Knee Pads for Flooring, Framing, and Electrical Work

Knee pads protect your knees on concrete, subfloor, and finished surfaces. This collection includes strap-on pads from DeWALT (flooring, hard-shell, stabilizing, and non-marring gel), Klein (hinged, semi-hinged non-marring, and Tradesman Pro), CLC (gel, leather, and heavy duty flooring), Occidental Leather, and Milwaukee. Blaklader offers foam and reinforced kneepads, and Steel-Flex makes pocket pads for work pants. Klein knee pad sleeves and Milwaukee kneeling pads, including a PACKOUT version, round it out.

What to Look For

  • Shell. Hard shells let you pivot and slide. Non-marring caps protect finished floors.
  • Cushion. Gel and layered foam spread pressure over long sessions on your knees.
  • Attachment. Choose straps, pull-on sleeves, or pads that slip into work pant pockets.
  • Kneeling pad. A separate kneeling pad suits short tasks where you move on and off your knees.

Knee Pads FAQ

Which knee pads work on finished floors?

Look for non-marring caps, such as the DeWALT DWST590015 or the Klein 60846. Flooring-specific pads from DeWALT and CLC are also built for long days on your knees laying floor.

Strap-on pads or pocket pads?

Strap-on pads go over any pants and come off fast. Pocket pads like the Steel-Flex models slide into work pants with knee pockets, so nothing pinches behind the knee.
