Makita Multi-Tool Blades

Makita Oscillating Multi-Tool Blades

Makita multi-tool blades let one oscillating tool plunge cut, flush cut, remove grout, and scrape sealant. Most here are StarlockMax and StarlockPlus blades: high carbon steel and bi-metal plunge cut blades, carbide-tooth blades for metal, segmented saw blades, carbide grit grout blades in 30, 40, and 50 grit, and sealant removal and joint cutter blades. A Starlock delta sanding pad and older A-95 series blades round out the collection.

What to Look For

  • Mount. Starlock fits all Starlock tools. StarlockPlus fits Plus and Max tools. StarlockMax fits Max tools only.
  • Material. HCS for wood and plastic, bi-metal for nails in wood, carbide for metal and abrasives.
  • Blade shape. Plunge blades for cutouts, segmented blades for flush and long cuts.
  • Grit. Lower grit removes grout faster. Higher grit cuts smoother.

Makita Multi-Tool Blades FAQ

Will StarlockMax blades fit my multi-tool?

Only if the tool has a StarlockMax mount, such as the GMT01Z or XMT04. StarlockPlus blades fit StarlockPlus and StarlockMax tools. Check your tool's mount before buying.

Which blade cuts through nails?

Use a bi-metal plunge cut blade for wood with embedded nails or screws. For harder metals, use a blade with tungsten carbide teeth made for metal cutting.
