Milwaukee Screwdrivers / Drywall Guns

Milwaukee Drywall Screw Guns and Corded Screwdrivers

Milwaukee drywall screw guns and screwdrivers drive fasteners fast and to a set depth, which a drill can't do as consistently. Cordless picks are the 2866-20 M18 FUEL drywall screw gun and the 2866-22 and 2866-22CT kits. Corded tools cover the 6742-20 drywall screwdriver, the 6740-20 for decking, drywall, and framing, the 6790-20 self drill fastener screwdriver, and the 6780-20 and 6580-20 adjustable clutch screwdrivers. The 6791-21 remodeler's kit and 6792-20 power unit use the QUIK-LOK cord.

What to Look For

  • Application. Drywall models set screw depth in board. Self drill and metal fastening models drive into steel studs and panels.
  • Clutch. Adjustable clutch models stop at a set torque to avoid stripping.
  • Cordless or corded. The M18 FUEL gun moves room to room. Corded guns run all day on a big hang.

Milwaukee Screwdrivers / Drywall Guns FAQ

Why use a drywall screw gun instead of an impact driver?

A screw gun has a depth-setting nose that sinks each screw just below the paper without tearing it. An impact driver drives harder but has no depth stop, so it is easy to overdrive drywall screws.

What warranty covers Milwaukee screw guns?

Most Milwaukee power tools, including M18 tools, carry a 5-year limited warranty. Most M18 REDLITHIUM packs in kits carry 3 years. Registration is not required, and some products carry shorter terms.
