Slotted / Standard Screwdrivers

Slotted Screwdrivers and Flat-Blade Sets

Slotted (standard) screwdrivers turn flat-head screws in electrical boxes, hardware, appliances, and furniture. Wiha leads this collection with SoftFinish sets, PicoFinish and long precision drivers, and 13-piece insulated sets. Klein Tools adds screw holding drivers, precision sets, and Tru-Grip and HVAC pocket drivers. Wera brings Kraftform Ball-Grip and VDE-insulated drivers, and Milwaukee offers 1000V insulated drivers and Made in the USA cushion grip models.

What to Look For

  • Tip fit. Match blade width and thickness to the screw slot so the tip seats fully.
  • Insulation. For energized electrical work, choose 1000V insulated drivers such as Milwaukee, Wera VDE, or Wiha insulated sets.
  • Precision sizes. Small electronics and eyeglass screws need precision drivers with a rotating cap.
  • Screw holding. Klein screw holding drivers grip the screw so you can start it one-handed.

Slotted Screwdrivers FAQ

What is the difference between keystone and cabinet tips?

A keystone tip flares wider than the shaft for leverage on large exposed screws. A cabinet tip is no wider than the shaft, so it reaches screws in counterbored holes without marring the sides.

Set or single drivers?

Sets give you the sizes most jobs need in one purchase. Buy singles to replace a worn driver or to add a long or insulated version of a size you use daily.
