Speedheater Infrared Paint Removal and Scraping Tools
Speedheater builds a complete system for stripping old paint from wood: an infrared heater that softens the coating, and a set of shaped scrapers that lift it off. This collection includes the Cobra and Rapid Slim infrared (IR) paint removers, the Cobra Renovation Kit and Window Restoration Tool Kit, and the Speedheater scrapers sized for siding, trim, and window sash. Support gear rounds it out, including a ladder hook, heat protection mat, and the Speedheater storage box. It suits restoration carpenters, painters, and owners of older homes.

Infrared Paint Removers and Kits
The Cobra and Rapid Slim heaters warm paint until it lets go of the wood. Kits pair a heater with scrapers for whole-house jobs or window restoration. A replacement IR module for the Cobra keeps the heater in service. For hot air tools, compare heat guns.
Paint Scrapers and Blades
Pick a blade shape that matches the surface: clapboard for siding and flat boards, boomerang for concave surfaces, profile and hat profile for molding, plus 4-cut and 8-cut scrapers for dry scraping. See all Speedheater scrapers and replacement blades.
Window Tools, Storage, and Support
A putty chisel and putty scraper remove old glazing. The ladder hook and paint can holder keep tools close on the ladder, and the angle support bracket and heat protection mat help at the work surface. The storage box holds the set between jobs.

Speedheater Paint and Finish Scrapers FAQ
Why use an infrared heater instead of a heat gun?
An infrared heater warms a flat area of paint evenly and generally runs cooler than a hot air gun. That lowers the chance of scorching wood or cracking nearby glass, and it lets you heat one section while scraping the last. A heat gun is still useful for small spots and tight corners.
Which Speedheater scraper should I buy first?
Start with the shape of most of your surfaces. The clapboard scraper handles siding and flat boards. Add the profile or boomerang scraper for trim and curves, and the putty scraper if you are restoring windows. The Flexi multi-tool takes interchangeable blades from its magazine.
Can Speedheater blades be sharpened?
Yes. The grinding and sharpening kit restores scraper edges, which matters because a dull blade smears softened paint instead of lifting it. Replacement blades are also available for the clapboard, boomerang, profile, and hat profile scrapers.
What warranty does Speedheater offer?
Speedheater offers a 1-year warranty on all its products. It normally replaces production and manufacturing defects after an individual assessment. Claims can go through the retailer or to Speedheater directly, and paid service or repair is offered for other damage.
