Overview
The Milwaukee M18 FUEL Cordless 6-1/2" Plunge Track Saw w/ 110-in. Guide Rail Bundle is a complete cordless track saw system for carpenters, remodelers, cabinet installers, and woodworkers. This is a plunge track saw designed for straight, splinter-free rip cuts and crosscuts in plywood, sheet goods, and solid hardwood. The bundle is built around the Milwaukee 2831-20 M18 FUEL 6-1/2" Plunge Track Saw and adds two 55" guide rails, a general purpose blade, rail clamps, and a rail bag.
The saw uses a POWERSTATE brushless motor that spins the 6-1/2" blade at up to 5,600 RPM, enough to cut solid hardwoods cleanly. A variable speed dial lets you slow the blade for laminates, plastics, or other materials that melt or chip at full speed. REDLINK PLUS intelligence protects the saw and battery from overload, overheating, and over-discharge, so the tool backs off before it damages itself in a heavy rip.
The adjustments are where a track saw earns its price. A smooth, pivoting plunge lets you drop into the middle of a panel for cutouts. An easy-slide depth scale sets depth quickly, and a micro-adjust depth knob dials it in for scoring passes or cutting through veneer without hitting the bench. Bevel stops at 0, 22.5, and 45 degrees cover common angle cuts. An adjustable cam system tunes the saw's fit on the rail, eliminating side-to-side play that shows up as a wavy edge.
Safety and serviceability are handled sensibly. A riving knife keeps the kerf open behind the blade, which reduces pinching and kickback on long rips. The quick-lock blade change system and onboard Allen wrench storage mean the wrench is on the saw when you need it, not somewhere in the truck. Milwaukee rates dust collection at over 90% efficiency with the included dust bag or a vacuum hose on the 1-7/8" port, which matters most when you are cutting inside an occupied home.
The two Milwaukee 48-08-0571 55" guide rails are extruded aluminum with anti-slip strips on the bottom to keep them planted and an anti-splinter strip on the edge to reduce tear-out on veneered plywood and prefinished panels. Each rail weighs 5.1 lbs. Used alone, a 55" rail handles crosscuts on full sheets and most cabinet parts. Joined end to end, they give you 110" of track for full-length rips on 8 ft sheet goods. Rail connectors are not part of this bundle; the Milwaukee 48-08-0574 Guide Rail Connectors join the two rails.
The included Milwaukee 48-40-0624 6-1/2" 24-Tooth General Purpose Track Saw Blade is a solid everyday blade. Cobalt-infused tungsten carbide teeth hold an edge longer, a thin 0.063" kerf cuts faster and gets more cuts per charge, and laser-cut vibration slots reduce wobble. An alternate top bevel tooth pattern minimizes tear-out in plywood, OSB, softwoods, wet and treated lumber, and LVL, while an anti-friction coating resists heat, gumming, and corrosion.
The Milwaukee 48-08-0573 Guide Rail Clamps lock the rail to the workpiece when the anti-slip strips are not enough, such as on narrow parts, slick melamine, or angled cuts. They fit Milwaukee 31", 55", and 106" rails and have nonmarring feet and rubber handles. The Milwaukee 48-08-0576 Guide Rail Bag carries 31" and 55" rails in tear-resistant nylon with a padded, adjustable strap and extra pockets for clamps, connectors, and replacement strips.
This is an M18 tool and the saw is bare: no battery or charger is included. If you already run Milwaukee M18 batteries, you are ready to cut. Milwaukee pairs this saw with the M18 REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT XC6.0 battery for more cuts per charge.
Who should buy it? Finish carpenters, cabinet installers, remodelers, and woodworkers who break down sheet goods on site or in a small shop and want table-saw-quality edges without a table saw. If you are already on M18, this bundle is the most complete way to add a track saw in one purchase.
Finish-Quality Cuts Without a Cord
The brushless M18 FUEL motor and plunge action give you clean, controlled cuts anywhere on the jobsite, from mid-panel cutouts to long rips.
- POWERSTATE brushless motor, up to 5,600 RPM
- Variable speed dial and micro-adjust depth knob
- Bevel stops at 0, 22.5, and 45 degrees
Straight Edges on Full Sheets
Extruded aluminum rails keep the saw on a dead-straight path, and the anti-splinter edge marks your cut line exactly where the blade will land.
- (2) 55" rails, 110" when joined
- Anti-slip strips and anti-splinter edge
Lock the Rail Down
On narrow parts, slick surfaces, and angled cuts, a clamped rail is the difference between a clean edge and a recut.
- Fits Milwaukee 31", 55", and 106" rails
- Nonmarring foot protects finished surfaces
Rails That Travel Safely
A dinged rail edge means a dinged cut. The padded bag protects the rails in the truck and keeps the small parts with them.
- Holds 31" and 55" Milwaukee rails
- Pockets for clamps, connectors, and replacement strips

Pro Tip
Before the first real cut, set the cam adjustment so the saw slides without side play, then make one full-length pass on scrap to trim the new anti-splinter strip to your blade. From then on, the edge of that strip is your cut line.
Tool Nut's Take
The Milwaukee M18 FUEL Cordless 6-1/2" Plunge Track Saw w/ 110-in. Guide Rail Bundle Is a Complete Panel Shop
Everything you need to rip full sheets cleanly on M18 power, except the battery you probably already own.
- Who it's for: M18 users in finish carpentry, cabinet installation, and remodeling who need straight, clean cuts on site.
- Why it stands out: Two 55" rails cover both crosscuts and full-length rips, and the clamps, blade, and bag are the accessories you would end up buying anyway.
- Worth knowing: The saw is bare and the bundle does not include rail connectors, so plan for one of the Milwaukee M18 batteries and a connector set if you want the full 110" run on day one.
Common Questions
- Does this bundle include a battery or charger? No. The 2831-20 saw is a bare tool and runs on Milwaukee M18 batteries.

- What blade size does the saw use? 6-1/2" track saw blades with a 20 mm arbor.
- Will these rails work with other brands' track saws? Milwaukee, Makita, Festool, and Triton track saws and guide rails are compatible and can be used interchangeably.
