A Strong Foundation
Laguna Tools was founded in 1983 by Torben Helshoj, a Danish woodworker and entrepreneur. After moving to the United States, Helshoj saw a need for high-quality woodworking machinery and began importing woodworking machinery from Europe and selling it to customers in the United States, and quickly gained a reputation for offering top-notch products and excellent customer service.
In 1993, Laguna Tools moved to a larger facility in Irvine, California, and began producing its own line of woodworking machinery.
SuperMax Aquisition
Laguna Tools acquired SuperMax Tools in 2018. Prior to the acquisition, SuperMax Tools had been a leading manufacturer of drum sanders, brush sanders, and other woodworking machinery for more than 30 years. The acquisition by Laguna Tools allowed the company to expand its product line and offer customers an even wider range of high-quality woodworking machinery and tools. Today, SuperMax Tools continues to operate as a subsidiary of Laguna Tools, with a focus on producing innovative and reliable sanding equipment for woodworking professionals and hobbyists alike.
