Tool Aprons for Carpenters, Linemen, and the Shop

A tool apron keeps fasteners, pencils, and hand tools at your waist or chest. This collection covers canvas, suede, denim, and leather aprons. CLC Work Gear offers everything from a 2-pocket canvas apron to a 19-pocket framer's combo with suspenders. Veto Pro Pac sells waist and full chest styles, Milwaukee makes aerial tool aprons for bucket work, and Calavera makes oil-finished and veg tan leather shop aprons.

What to Look For

  • Waist or bib. Waist aprons carry fasteners for framing and install work. Bib and full chest styles suit shop and bench work.
  • Material. Canvas is light and easy to clean. Suede and leather resist wear from sharp tools.
  • Pocket count. Two to five pockets for light use. Twelve or more for framing and finish carpentry.
  • Strap and fit. Calavera aprons come in Y-back, X-back, and neck strap versions in several sizes. Back straps spread weight off the neck.

The Tool Nut has been a specialty tool store since 1994. Aprons qualify for free shipping on most orders and earn rewards points.

Aprons FAQ

What is an aerial tool apron?

It hangs off a bucket truck or lift rim to hold tools within reach. Milwaukee offers the 48-22-8290 and the compact 48-22-8291 lineman's version.

Apron or tool belt?

An apron is lighter and suits shop work or short tasks. A tool belt with suspenders carries heavier loads for framing and all-day site work.
