What to Look For
- Saw model fit. Most parts are saw specific. Riser blocks come in 3/4 and 7/8 inch guide post versions, so check yours first.
- Fence. A taller, rigid fence like the Kreg KMS7200 helps resawing and repeat rips.
- Blade guides. Bearing or ceramic guides cut friction and keep the blade tracking.
- Inserts. Zero clearance inserts from Rikon support small offcuts and reduce tear-out.

What does a riser block do?
It raises the upper frame of a cast iron 14-inch band saw to increase resaw height. Jet riser block kits fit saws with 3/4 or 7/8 inch guide posts. You will need a longer blade after installing one.
Can I mount a portable band saw as a benchtop saw?
