Curved Jaw Pliers FAQ
Curved jaw or straight jaw locking pliers?
Curved jaws are best on pipe, rod, and round fasteners. Straight jaws hold flat stock and sheet metal with more contact. Many toolboxes carry one of each. See straight jaw pliers for the flat version.
What does the wire cutter on locking pliers do?
Some Irwin VISE-GRIP curved jaw pliers include a cutter near the pivot for snipping wire, which saves reaching for a second tool.
