DeWALT Wood Chisels and Demolition Chisels
This DeWALT chisels collection covers two very different tools. Hand chisels include the DWHT16063 4-piece wood chisel set, the 1-1/4-inch DWHT16860, and the DWHT16065 side strike chisel for striking with a hammer. Powered demolition chisels fit demolition and rotary hammers: cold chisels, scaling chisels, bull points, and a bushing tool with 3/4-inch hex, 21/32-inch round spline, and SDS MAX shanks.
What to Look For
- Shank type. Demolition chisels must match your hammer's chuck: SDS MAX, 3/4-inch hex, or 21/32-inch round spline.
- Tip shape. Bull points break up concrete, cold chisels split and cut, scaling chisels peel tile and coatings, and bushing tools texture surfaces.
- Length. Longer chisels reach deeper into slabs and walls. Shorter ones give more control.
- Wood chisel width. A set covers most joinery. Add a wide 1-1/4-inch chisel for paring and cleaning large mortises.

Which demolition chisel fits my hammer?
Check the hammer's chuck. SDS MAX hammers take SDS MAX chisels, and larger hex hammers take 3/4-inch hex shanks. Spline shank hammers take 21/32-inch round spline chisels. The shank is listed in each product title.
Are DeWALT chisels under warranty?
DeWALT hand tools, such as its wood chisels, carry a limited lifetime warranty. Demolition chisels and bull points for powered hammers are accessories, which DeWALT excludes from its tool warranty.
