Diamond Coring Tools
Diamond Core Drills, Stands, and Coring Rigs
Diamond coring tools bore round holes through concrete, block, and stone for pipe, conduit, and vents. Most of this collection is Milwaukee: corded coring motors with a clutch or shear pin, small and large base stands, complete rigs with a Vac-U-Rig kit and meter box, and a water tank. Cordless options include the Milwaukee MX FUEL handheld core drill kits with ONE-KEY and the DeWALT 60V MAX 6-3/8-inch 3-speed core drills, including a POWERSHIFT kit with stand.
What to Look For
- Handheld or stand-mounted. Handheld coring suits smaller holes in block and brick. A stand holds the motor steady for larger, deeper cores in reinforced concrete.
- Corded or cordless. Corded motors suit long coring sessions. MX FUEL and DeWALT 60V MAX kits work where power is hard to reach.
- Clutch or shear pin. A clutch slips when the bit binds. A shear pin breaks to protect the motor and must be replaced.
- Mounting. Vacuum base rigs hold the stand to smooth slab without anchors. Base assemblies and mounting plates adapt motors to stands.

Diamond Coring Tools FAQ
When should I core instead of using a hole saw?
Hole saws are made for wood, metal, and plastic. Masonry and concrete need diamond coring, which grinds a clean round hole through aggregate and rebar where a toothed saw would fail.
Do I need water when coring?
Most stand-mounted wet coring uses water to cool the bit and flush slurry. That is why Milwaukee rigs pair with a water tank. Check your core bit to see whether it is rated for wet or dry use.
