Dust Collectors

Shop Dust Collectors

Dust collectors move large volumes of chips and dust from table saws, planers, jointers, and sanders through ducts or a hose. This collection includes Jet single-stage collectors from the 1HP DC-650 to the 2HP DC-1200VX and JCDC cyclones in 1.5, 2, and 3HP, Powermatic PM1300TX and PM1900TX collectors and the PM2200 cyclone HEPA, Laguna B|flux and P|FLUX cyclones, Shop Fox wall, portable, and cyclone units, and a Rikon portable collector.

What to Look For

  • Horsepower. One HP portable units serve one machine at a time. 2 and 3HP collectors pull through longer duct runs.
  • Filtration. Kits come with 30-micron bags, 5-micron bags, or 2-micron canisters. Finer filters catch more fine dust.
  • Cyclone or single stage. Cyclones drop chips before the filter, so filters stay cleaner longer.
  • Power. Check voltage and phase. Larger units need 230V, and some come in 3-phase versions.

Dust Collectors FAQ

Dust collector or dust extractor?

A dust collector moves high air volume for stationary machines that throw chips. A dust extractor uses high suction for handheld sanders and saws. Many shops use a collector for machines and an extractor for portable tools.

Bag or canister filter?

Canister filters, like the 2-micron kits from Jet and Powermatic, trap finer dust and are easier to clean. Bag kits cost less and suit shops that mainly collect chips.
