Fein grinders are corded tools for metal fabrication, weld prep, and finishing. The angle grinders span 4-1/2, 5, and 6-inch sizes, from the compact CG 10 and CG 13 series and WSG models to the CG 15 BL line, including INOX versions for stainless work. The GSZ die grinders cover low-speed models near 8,500 to 9,900 RPM and high-speed models from 28,000 to 32,500 RPM. The WPO 14-25 E metal finisher handles surface finishing.
What to Look For
- Switch style. Titles note paddle switch or slide switch versions of the same grinder. Pick the switch your work and site rules call for.
- Variable speed. Models listed as variable speed, including the PDEV angle grinders and most GSZ die grinders, let you lower speed for finishing and heat-sensitive metals.
- Disc size. 4-1/2 inch is lighter for one-hand work. 5 and 6 inch reach deeper on thicker stock.
- Die grinder speed. Low-speed GSZ models suit larger abrasives. High-speed models suit carbide burrs and small points.
