Grinder Wheels, Discs, Brushes, and Metalworking Parts
Grinder and metalworking accessories turn one grinder into a cutting, blending, cleaning, and finishing tool. The biggest groups are grinder wheels for cutting and grinding, flap discs for blending welds, and wire brushes for rust and scale. Around them sit dust shrouds, flange nuts, side handles, and parts for bench grinders and sharpening systems from Festool, Milwaukee, DeWALT, Makita, JET, and Rikon. Pick consumables by grinder size and mount, then add the parts that keep the tool working.

Grinder Wheels
Grinder wheels include thin Type 1 cut-off wheels, Type 27 depressed center grinding wheels, masonry wheels, and diamond cup wheels. Sizes run from 1-1/2 in. for compact cut-off tools to 14 in. for chop saws, with X-LOCK options from Makita and Bosch.
Flap Discs
Flap discs grind and finish in one step, leaving a smoother surface than a hard wheel. Makita X-LOCK Type 29 angled flap discs are sold in 3-packs and also fit standard 7/8 in. arbor grinders.
Wire Brushes
Wire brushes and wire wheels strip rust, paint, and weld spatter. Choose crimped wire for light cleaning and knotted wire for heavy scale. Bench wheels fit pedestal and bench grinders.
Grinder Dust Shrouds
Dust shrouds connect a grinder to a vacuum for concrete surfacing, tuckpointing, and cutting. Bosch, DeWALT, and Festool shrouds are sized to specific grinders, so match the model before ordering.
Flanges, Handles, and Guards
Replacement flange nuts, keyless flange nuts, backing flanges, and bail handles keep grinders safe to run. Festool parts fit the AGC 18-115. Milwaukee sells small and large angle grinder adapters.
Bench Grinder and Sharpening Parts
JET LED lamps fit IBG bench grinders, and Rikon sells a bench grinder stand. The JET JWS-10 sharpening system has its own tool rest, diamond truing tool, 220 grit wheel, and turning tool jig set. See flap wheels for polishing.

Grinders / Metalworking Accessories FAQ
Flap disc or grinding wheel?
A Type 27 grinding wheel removes heavy welds and stock fast but leaves a rough finish. A flap disc removes less material per pass and blends the surface smooth. Many fabricators grind with a wheel, then finish with a flap disc.
Do X-LOCK accessories fit my grinder?
X-LOCK wheels and discs click onto X-LOCK grinders without a flange nut. Some Makita X-LOCK flap discs are labeled for all 7/8 in. arbor grinders too. Check the listing before mixing systems, or browse X-LOCK grinders.
Which wire brush should I start with?
For a 4-1/2 in. angle grinder, a knotted cup or wheel with a 5/8"-11 thread handles rust and weld scale. For a drill, use a wheel with a 1/4 in. hex shank. Find both in wire brushes.
Why does a grinder need a dust shroud?
Grinding concrete, mortar, and stone throws fine dust that contains silica. A shroud connected to an extractor captures it at the wheel. Metal grinding shrouds also keep sparks and grit off the operator.
