Inspection Cameras

Inspection Cameras and Borescopes

Inspection cameras put a small camera on a cable so you can see inside walls, engines, and pipes. Milwaukee offers M-SPECTOR 360 cameras with 4-foot and 10-foot cables, an M-SPECTOR FLEX with PIVOTVIEW, an M12 auto technician borescope, and a full set of replacement cables, extensions, and scope heads. DeWALT offers 12V MAX cameras with a wireless screen in 5.8mm, 9mm, and 17mm heads. Klein adds the ET17 utility borescope. Bosch and Makita wall and floor scanners also appear here.

What to Look For

  • Head diameter. Smaller heads fit tight openings. Larger heads usually give a brighter, wider view.
  • Cable length. Short cables suit engine and cabinet work. Longer cables reach into walls and drains.
  • Articulation. PIVOTVIEW and similar heads turn to look around corners.
  • Display. Wireless screens let you feed the cable and watch from a better angle.

Inspection Cameras FAQ

What camera head size do I need?

Pick the smallest head that still gives a clear picture for the job. The DeWALT 5.8mm head fits small openings, the 9mm is a middle option, and the 17mm suits larger spaces where light and view angle matter more.

Can I add cable length later?

On many models, yes. Milwaukee sells M-Spector extension cables and replacement camera cables, and DeWALT sells replacement and extension cables. Check that the cable matches your camera model.
