What to Look For
- Blade length. Match the blade to your saw: 44-7/8 inches for standard portable band saws, 35-3/8 inches for compact models.
- Tooth pitch. Higher TPI, like 18 or 24, for thin wall tube and conduit. Lower or variable TPI, like 10/14, for thicker solids.
- Pack size. 25-packs suit crews and shops that cut every day.
- Hole making. Carbide hole cutters handle sheet metal enclosures. Self-feed bits bore large holes through wood framing.

Lenox FAQ
What TPI portable band saw blade should I use?
Keep at least three teeth in the material at once. For conduit, thin wall pipe, and sheet, use 18 or 24 TPI. For angle, channel, and heavier pipe, 14 or 14/18 TPI. For solid bar and thick sections, 10/14 TPI clears chips faster.
Carbide hole cutter or self-feed bit?
Use carbide hole cutters for steel boxes, panels, and enclosures. The 15-piece electrician's kit covers a range of sizes in one case. Use bi-metal self-feed bits for large holes through studs and joists for pipe and conduit runs.
