Jet supplies arbor presses from 1/2 ton to 5 tons, bench and floor box and pan brakes in 12 to 16 gauge, foot clamp and dual sided brakes, and slip rolls in bench and electric versions, plus matching stands. Shop Fox adds 24-inch and 48-inch box and pan brakes for smaller shops.
What to Look For
- Gauge and width. Match the listed gauge and bending width to the thickest and widest sheet you form. Rated gauge is for mild steel.
- Brake style. Box and pan brakes use removable fingers so you can fold four-sided boxes. Foot clamp models free both hands.
- Slip roll drive. Bench slip rolls are hand cranked; electric models in single or three phase suit repeated rolling.
- Stand. Bench brakes and slip rolls need a rigid base. Jet sells dedicated stands for each size.

Metalforming Tools FAQ
What size arbor press do I need?
Light bearing and bushing work fits a 1/2 to 1 ton press. Step up to 3 or 5 tons for larger bearings, broaching, and straightening. Throat depth and ram travel also limit part size, so check both.
Can I use a single phase electric slip roll at home?
Jet offers its 50-inch electric slip roll in both single phase and three phase. Most home and small shops run single phase power, so pick the 1-phase model unless your shop has three phase service.
