Knee Mills and Mill/Drills for Machining
This collection is made up of Jet milling machines. Knee mills include the JTM-949EVS, EVS-949, ETM-949, JTM-1050VS2, JTM-1050EVS2/230, JTM-1, and JTM-2, offered in many packages that combine ACU-RITE 203, ACU-RITE VUE, or Newall DP500 and DP700 readouts with X, Y, and Z-axis powerfeeds and air powered draw bars. There is also an EVS-949 with ACU-RITE G2 MillPwr CNC, and the JMD-45GH and JMD-18PFN mill/drills for smaller shops.
What to Look For
- Table size. Model numbers such as 949 and 1050 reflect table size. Size for your largest part and vise.
- Readout placement. Packages list the DRO Z-axis on the quill or the knee. Quill scales suit drilling depth; knee scales track the full Z travel.
- Powerfeeds. An X-axis powerfeed gives smoother finishes on long passes. Y and Z feeds save cranking on production work.
- Draw bar. An air powered draw bar makes tool changes faster when you swap cutters often.

Metalworking Mills FAQ
Knee mill or mill/drill?
A knee mill raises the whole table on the knee and keeps the head aligned, which suits accurate, repeat machining. A mill/drill such as the JMD-45GH moves the head on a column and fits a smaller shop and budget.
Why are there so many versions of one mill?
Jet sells each mill in configured packages. The base machine is the same; the package changes the readout brand, which axes have powerfeeds, and whether an air draw bar or CNC control is fitted. Compare the title details to find the build you need.
