PSA Sanding Discs
PSA Sanding Discs, Sheets, and Rolls
PSA abrasives use a pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that sticks directly to a smooth pad or platen. They are the standard for stationary disc sanders, drum and flooring sanders, and hand sanding blocks. This collection includes Diablo 5" PSA discs in 50-packs from 40 to 220 grit, Diablo 4-1/2 in. x 15-3/4 in. sheets for Hiretech HTF sanders, Rikon 12" and 5" discs, Porter Cable 4-1/2" x 10 yard AO rolls, a DeWALT 2-3/4" roll, and a Makita 5" PSA backing pad.
What to Look For
- Fit. Match disc diameter or sheet size to your sander platen, such as 12" for a Rikon disc sander or 15-3/4 in. sheets for Hiretech HTF sanders.
- Grit. Use 40 to 80 grit to flatten and remove stock, 100 to 150 to smooth, and 180 to 320 for finish prep.
- Rolls or precut. Rolls let you cut strips for sanding blocks and files. Precut discs and sheets save setup time.
- Pad surface. PSA needs a smooth, clean pad. Use a PSA backing pad, not a hook-and-loop pad.

PSA Sanding Discs FAQ
PSA or hook-and-loop?
PSA discs sit flat and thin on the pad, which suits stationary disc sanders and flat sanding. They are meant to stay on until worn out. Hook-and-loop discs come off and go back on, so they suit random orbital sanders where you change grits often.
How do I remove an old PSA disc cleanly?
Peel it slowly while the platen is still warm from use, or warm it briefly with a heat gun on low. Clean leftover adhesive from the platen before applying the new disc so it sits flat.
