Tajima
Tajima Chalk Lines, Tape Measures, and Cutting Tools
Tajima is a Japanese brand of layout and cutting tools for framers, drywallers, and finish carpenters. Chalk lines lead this collection: Chalk-Rite compact, mini, and jam free reels, Sturdy snap-lines with 0.5mm ultra-thin or 1.0mm extra bold line, and 300-gram refills of micro chalk and snap line dye. You will also find GS-Lock and Sigma Stop tape measures, V-Rex blades and the VR safety knife, Japan Pull hand saws, a drywall rasp, the Convoy caulk applicator, a Plumb-Rite setter, and a slant angle meter.
What to Look For
- Line thickness. A 0.5mm line marks precise cuts. A 1.0mm extra bold line stays visible on rough or wet surfaces.
- Chalk or dye. Micro chalk wipes away for temporary layout. Snap line dye leaves a lasting mark.
- Tape lock. GS-Lock tapes hold the blade in place, and some include a safety holder for the belt.
- Saw style. Japan Pull saws cut on the pull stroke, which allows a thin blade and fine kerf.
