Track Saw Blades

Track Saw Blades by Tooth Count and Material

A track saw blade sets the quality of the cut more than the saw does. Most blades here are 6-1/2 inch for Milwaukee, DeWALT, Makita, Triton, and Kreg track saws. Milwaukee offers 24-tooth rip, 40-tooth finish, 48-tooth fine finish, 52-tooth laminate, and 4-tooth fiber cement blades. Diablo covers 20- and 24-tooth framing, 48-tooth fine finish, 52-tooth laminate, and 4-tooth fiber cement. DeWALT, Triton, and Kreg add 40-, 48-, 52-, and 60-tooth options. Festool blades are sized for its saws, including 160 mm blades in 12, 18, 25, and 35 teeth for the TSC 55 and HKC 55, and a 16-tooth blade for the AT 65.

What to Look For

  • Saw fit. Match blade diameter and arbor to your saw. Festool blades are made for specific Festool models.
  • Tooth count. Fewer teeth rip faster. 48 to 60 teeth leave a cleaner edge on plywood and veneer.
  • Material. Use laminate blades on melamine and fiber cement blades on siding.

Track Saw Blades FAQ

Can I use a circular saw blade in a track saw?

Only if the diameter, arbor, and kerf match what the saw maker specifies. Track saw blades are made for plunge cuts and a clean edge against the rail splinter guard, so a dedicated blade is the safer choice.

Which blade should I keep on the saw?

For cabinet and sheet goods work, a 48-tooth fine finish blade is a common everyday choice. Swap to a low tooth count blade for ripping thick lumber.
