Overview
This bundle pairs the DeWALT 20V MAX ATOMIC Right Angle Die Grinder with the DeWALT 20V MAX 5.0Ah Battery, 2-Pack, so the bare-tool grinder comes with two XR batteries to run it. Model Numbers: DCG422B (20V MAX ATOMIC brushless right angle die grinder, tool only), DCB205-2 (two DCB205 20V MAX XR 5.0Ah lithium-ion batteries).
The DCG422B is a cordless right angle die grinder for grinding, deburring, surface prep, and light cutting in tight spaces. DEWALT rates it at up to 455 MWO and positions it as a cordless alternative to pneumatic die grinders. It uses a brushless motor, a 1/4 in. collet, and a variable speed trigger. The ANTI-ROTATION System helps stop the wheel when it senses a pinch, stall, or bind-up, and the electronic brake stops the wheel in less than 1 second after the trigger is released. The glass-filled nylon housing is built to stand up to oils and harmful solvents, and the tool is TOOL CONNECT Chip Ready (chip sold separately).
The DCB205-2 includes two DCB205 20V MAX XR 5.0Ah lithium-ion batteries. Each pack delivers up to 60% more capacity than a standard 20V MAX battery, has a 3-LED fuel gauge, and weighs 1.4 lbs. Lithium-ion chemistry means no memory and virtually no self-discharge. Both packs fit the entire line of DEWALT 20V MAX tools and chargers.
This bundle is for automotive techs, fabricators, welders, and maintenance crews who want a cordless die grinder with enough battery to keep working through a full job. You will need a DEWALT 20V MAX charger, which is not included.
Reach Into Tight Metalworking Spaces
Around exhaust, brackets, pipe, and welds, access is everything. The right angle layout keeps the tool where the work is, and two 5.0Ah packs keep it running without a compressor hose.
- Right angle die grinder format for confined work areas
- Rated up to 455 MWO for pneumatic-replacement die grinder work
- Rotate two XR packs: one in the tool, one on the charger

Pro Tip
If the ANTI-ROTATION System stops the wheel after a bind-up, cycle the switch off and back on to reset it. Check the 3-LED fuel gauge before getting under a vehicle so you can swap to the second pack before you start, not halfway through.

Tool Nut's Take
A Cordless Die Grinder With Battery to Spare
The ATOMIC die grinder replaces a lot of air-tool work, and two XR 5.0Ah packs mean you can keep one charging while you grind.
- Who it's for: Automotive techs, fabricators, welders, and maintenance crews on DEWALT 20V MAX, or getting onto it.
- Why it stands out: Right angle access, ANTI-ROTATION protection, a sub-1-second brake, and two full-size XR batteries in one box.
- Worth knowing: No charger is included. Each 5.0Ah XR pack weighs 1.4 lb on a 2.6 lb tool, so expect a heavier setup than with a compact 20V MAX pack.
