The Jet JT9-IBG8-25 Wheel Cover is a genuine JET replacement part for the IBG series industrial bench grinders. This is a bench grinder wheel cover designed to enclose the side of the grinding wheel for safety and dust control on JET IBG-8, IBG-8VS, IBG-10 and IBG-12 grinders, plus the IBGB-248, IBGB-248VS, IBGB-436 and IBGB-436VS belt and grinder combination machines. JET's previous part number for it is IBG8-25.
The cover is the piece you remove to change a wheel, which makes it the part most likely to get dropped or dented over years of use. When it is bent, cracked, or no longer seats correctly on the grinder body, JET's direction is to replace it. A cover that does not close up properly leaves the side of a spinning wheel exposed.
Because this is the OEM part, the domed profile and mounting holes match the original cover on your grinder. No drilling, shimming or guessing.
This part replaces the outer wheel cover only. The wheel guard housing it mounts to is a separate part, the Jet JT9-IBG8-21, and grinding wheels, tool rests and eye shields are also sold separately.

Any time the guard or cover comes off, reset the tool rest to within 1/8" of the wheel and the upper spark guard to within 1/4" before you power up. Then spin the wheel by hand once to confirm nothing rubs before the motor ever sees it.
