Overview
The Klein Tools 8-in-1 Tru-Grip Screwdriver with Stubby (32961A) is two drivers in one handle. This is a multi-bit screwdriver designed for electricians and maintenance techs who want full-size reach and a stubby for tight spots without carrying both. Klein model 32961A converts between a full-size multi-bit screwdriver and a multi-bit stubby.
The eight functions: Phillips #1, #2 and #3 bits; slotted 3/16" and 1/4" bits; square #1 and #2 bits; and a 1/4" nut driver that doubles as the bit holder. That covers device screws, cover plates, panel screws and the square-drive fasteners common on electrical boxes and devices. The industrial-strength bits are stored in the multi-bit stubby, so they travel with the tool.
Magnetism is handled well. The 1/4" nut driver contains rare-earth magnets that secure the bit and transfer magnetism through it, so the bit holds a fastener hands-free. That helps when starting a screw overhead or at the back of a deep box. The bit shank is round, about 2-3/16" (5.5 cm) long, in matte black steel with a black nitride finish.
The Tru-Grip handle in black and yellow rubber and plastic provides torque and comfort on repetitive fastening jobs. Overall length is about 6-9/16" (16.7 cm) with a 1-5/8" (4.1 cm) handle diameter, and it weighs 5.4 oz (153 g). It is not insulated and does not ratchet.
Who should buy it: electricians, HVAC and maintenance techs who want one driver that covers Phillips, slotted and square with a stubby built in, especially for trim-out and device work.
