The Klein Tools Flame-Resistant Heated Base Layer Vest, Large (60954FR) is a battery-heated vest built from flame-resistant materials for cold-weather utility and electrical work. Most heated vests are not FR, which keeps them off energized jobsites. Klein built this one with an ASTM F1506-compliant FR interior liner and an exterior shell Klein lists as ASTM 1891-compliant, with an arc rating of 11 cal/cm². The liner is 100% FR cotton interlock at 7.0 oz/yd² (237 g/m²), and the shell is a FR and antistatic PU multilayer trilaminate at 8.8 oz/yd² (300 g/m²).
Heat comes from four integrated panels: left chest, right chest, upper back and lower back. Three settings let you trade warmth for runtime, with Klein rating up to 12 hours on low, 6 hours on medium and 4 hours on high. Two rechargeable lithium-ion batteries are included, so one powers the vest while the other waits as a backup, plus two USB-A to USB-C charging cables.
The outside is a waterproof softshell that stays low profile under a jacket or bibs. Oversized zipper pulls are sized for Class 2 gloves, and an adjustable waist cinch holds heat in through the day. Storage is four pockets total: three exterior and one interior.
