The Klein Tools Flame-Resistant Heated Base Layer Vest, X-Large (60955FR) is a flame-resistant, battery-heated base layer for utility and electrical crews working in the cold. This is an FR heated vest designed to be worn under outerwear so you can add warmth while staying within jobsite FR PPE requirements.
The X-Large size fits a 45" to 48" (114 to 122 cm) chest and measures about 31-7/8" (81 cm) long by 26" (66 cm) wide laid flat. It weighs 3.2 lb (1.5 kg), light enough that it does not feel like another jacket under your outer layer.
Klein builds the vest with an ASTM F1506-compliant FR interior liner of 100% FR cotton interlock and a waterproof softshell exterior, listed as ASTM 1891-compliant, made from a FR and antistatic PU multilayer trilaminate. The arc rating is 11 cal/cm².
Four heat panels sit at the left chest, right chest, upper back and lower back. The three settings are rated at up to 12 hours on low, 6 hours on medium and 4 hours on high, and the second included battery doubles what you can get out of a shift. Charging is through the two included USB-A to USB-C cables.
Field details: oversized zipper pulls you can grab with Class 2 gloves, an adjustable waist cinch to hold heat in, and four pockets (three outside, one inside). The vest is machine washable.
