The Klein Tools Flame-Resistant Heated Base Layer Vest, 2X-Large (60956FR) is a heated FR vest for workers who need cold-weather comfort and FR compliance at the same time. This is a flame-resistant heated base layer designed for utility, line and electrical work in the cold, worn under outerwear.
The 2X-Large fits a 49" to 50" (124 to 127 cm) chest. Laid flat it is about 32-1/2" (82.6 cm) long and 28-5/16" (71.9 cm) wide, and it weighs 3.4 lb (1.5 kg).
Klein's FR build starts with an ASTM F1506-compliant liner of 100% FR cotton interlock, 7.0 oz/yd² (237 g/m²). Over that is a FR and antistatic PU multilayer trilaminate softshell, 8.8 oz/yd² (300 g/m²), which Klein lists as ASTM 1891-compliant and waterproof. Arc rating is 11 cal/cm².
Four heating panels warm the left chest, right chest, upper back and lower back. Choose low for up to 12 hours, medium for up to 6, or high for up to 4. Because two lithium-ion batteries ship with the vest, you can run one and keep the second charged and ready.
Oversized zipper pulls work with Class 2 gloves, an adjustable waist cinch helps retain heat, and four pockets (three exterior, one interior) hold small tools and personal items. The vest is machine washable.
