The Klein Skribes Chisel-Tip Permanent Markers, Black, 3-Pack (model 861023) are jobsite permanent markers designed for marking and labeling building materials. This is a three-marker pack of black chisel-tip markers built for contractors, electricians, carpenters and remodelers who write on rough or dirty surfaces all day.

The ink is professional grade and writes on wet, dry, oily, dusty and abrasive surfaces. It dries quickly and resists smudging, which matters when you mark a stud, a slab or a conduit run and then handle the work right away. The chisel tip gives you a wide line for big labels and a thin edge for tighter marks.

The barrel is triangular, so a marker set down on a sloped surface or a ladder shelf does not roll away, and you can use it uncapped without it getting away from you. Each marker is 5.7 in (145 mm) long and weighs 0.99 oz (28 g) for the pack of three, light enough to carry in a pocket or clipped to your hard hat.

A Marker That Survives the Jobsite

The Klein Skribes Chisel-Tip Permanent Markers are the black, wide-line option in the Skribes lineup.

• Who it's for: Anyone who marks lumber, concrete, metal or conduit and needs the mark to stay put.
• Why it stands out: A clip and lanyard loop on the barrel, a barrel that will not roll, and a 72-hour cap-off life.
• Worth knowing: This pack is all black. If you color-code your marks, look at the multi-color chisel-tip pack instead.
