Overview
The Klein Tools Slim Bluetooth Earmuffs (AESEM2) combine passive hearing protection with wireless audio. These are Bluetooth over-the-head earmuffs designed for hearing protection on jobsites, in workshops and during outdoor projects, with a 23 dB noise reduction rating under ANSI S3.19-1974.
Bluetooth 5.4 handles music and phone calls, with 32 mm audio drivers and a maximum volume capped at 88 dBA. That cap matters: the point of an earmuff is to protect your hearing, and a volume limit keeps the music from undoing it.
The slim, lightweight design is the main reason to choose these over bulkier Bluetooth earmuffs. Soft foam cushions form an acoustic seal for noise reduction and a secure fit, and adjustable arms tune the fit. The vented headband allows cooling airflow in hot conditions, and it can be worn with hats or headwear.
The rechargeable battery is rated for 50+ hours on a single charge, with about 2.5 hours to recharge through the included USB-C cable. The PC/ABS housing is IPX4 rated against splashing water and rated for a 6.6 ft (2 m) drop, suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The earmuffs measure about 5-11/16" x 8-5/16" x 3-13/16" (14.5 x 21.1 x 9.7 cm) and weigh 1.1 lb (499 g).
Who should buy them: contractors, carpenters, landscapers and shop users who spend hours around loud equipment and want calls and music without earbuds under a muff.
