Overview
The Klein Tools Smooth Retractable Chalk Reel, 100-ft., with Blue Chalk (model CHLK100S) is a manual chalk line reel for snapping straight chalk lines on jobsites. This is a marking tool designed for framing, layout and installation work.
A 6:1 gear ratio retracts the 100 ft (30.5 m) nylon line six times faster than a 1:1 reel. A quick-release spool clutch button disengages the handle while you pay out line, so extending it is faster and easier on the hand.
The nested hook lies flush against the reel body, which keeps the line from tangling in transport, and still anchors securely on a variety of surfaces. A twist-lock top prevents spills, a window shows the chalk level, and an overmolded grip gives secure handling.
The high-impact ABS case measures 5 in by 2-1/2 in by 3-3/16 in (127 x 64 x 81 mm) and weighs 5.3 oz (150 g). A removable belt clip and a lanyard hole let you carry it your way.
It suits framers, flooring and drywall installers, concrete crews and anyone who snaps lines all day.
