The Klein Tools 2000A AC/DC Auto-Ranging TRMS Clamp Meter with Worklight (CL910) is a professional clamp meter built for high-voltage electrical work. This is a CAT IV clamp meter designed for troubleshooting solar panel installations, wind turbines and power distribution networks, where 600V and 1000V meters run out of range. Klein model CL910 measures up to 2000V AC/DC and 2000A AC/DC with True RMS auto-ranging accuracy.
The current side handles 2000A AC or DC through a 2" (5.1 cm) jaw, with AC inrush capture through the clamp for motor and transformer startup readings. DC current measurement through the jaw matters on PV strings and battery systems, where you cannot open the conductor to put a meter in series. A DC polarity indicator and a 200µA DC micro-amp range cover flame-sensor and control-circuit checks too.
This is far more than a voltage-and-amps meter. The CL910 also covers resistance to 60MΩ, capacitance to 6000µF, frequency and duty cycle from 10Hz to 60kHz, temperature from -14°F to 1000°F (-26°C to 538°C) with the included thermocouple, diode test, audible continuity, low impedance (LoZ) mode for ghost-voltage checks and non-contact voltage detection. Min/Max, Rel/Zero and Data Hold round out the function list.
Visibility gets real attention. The display is a backlit, reverse-contrast (transflective) 6000-count LCD, the dial itself is lit, and a built-in worklight illuminates the connection point. Inside a combiner box or a dim switchgear room, that saves juggling a flashlight while you hold the clamp.
