Overview
The Klein Tools Flame-Resistant Cooling Hard Hat Top Pad (FRCLKHHTPPD5) adds cooling to the top of the head inside a Klein hard hat. This is a flame-resistant cooling hard hat pad designed for safety-critical work in hot environments, where heat builds up under the shell.
Like Klein's FR cooling sweat band, the top pad uses an active cooling insert between soft fabric layers. Soak it for 60 seconds, wring it out and install it. It remains cool for up to 90 minutes and reactivates with perspiration.
The fabric is flame resistant, a blend of 50% modacrylic, 30% viscose, 18% aramid and 2% antistatic carbon, tested to ASTM F1506-22 with an ATPV of 11.9 cal and suitable for CAT 2 environments per NFPA 70E. The soft fabric is more comfortable than cooling pads made with abrasive materials.
