The Knipex 74 21 200 SBA High Leverage 12 Degree Angled Diagonal Cutters are compact 200 mm (8-inch) cutters for mechanics, industrial techs and tradespeople who cut tough wire every day. This is a diagonal cutter designed for cutting hard wire, medium-hard wire and piano wire with reduced hand effort. Model Number: 74 21 200 SBA. SBA is Knipex retail-carded packaging of the 74 21 200.
The leverage geometry is the point. Knipex moves the riveted joint closer to the edges, so more of your squeeze goes into the cut. Knipex rates the saving at about 20% versus a conventional diagonal cutter of the same length, which you feel on repetitive work.
The precision cutting edges are induction hardened to about 64 HRC. Rated capacities are up to 3/32 in. piano wire, 1/8 in. hard wire and 11/64 in. medium-hard wire.
The 12 degree head angle keeps your hand off the surface when you cut near assemblies or inside tight spaces. Construction is forged chrome vanadium heavy-duty steel, multi-stage oil hardened, with a polished head and plastic-coated handles. It weighs about 0.59 lb and is made in Germany.
