The Knipex 87 02 180 SBA Cobra Water Pump Pliers are 180 mm (7-1/4 in.) adjustable pliers for plumbers, mechanics, HVAC techs and maintenance crews. This is a water pump plier designed for gripping pipes, nuts, fittings and flat, round or angular parts. Model Number: 87 02 180 SBA. SBA is Knipex retail-carded packaging of the 87 02 180, the multi-component comfort-grip version of the Cobra.
The push button lets you adjust the jaw directly on the workpiece. Set it, squeeze, and the self-locking jaw stays put on pipes and nuts with low hand force. Capacity is up to 1-1/2 in. (42 mm) pipe and nuts up to 36 mm across flats.
The gripping teeth are induction hardened to about 61 HRC so they bite and keep biting. The box-joint design with double guide keeps the jaws stable, the spring-loaded hinge bolt resists accidental shifting, and a pinch guard protects your fingers.
The pliers are forged from chrome vanadium electric steel and oil hardened, with multi-component comfort grips. They weigh about 0.43 lb and are made in Germany.
