The Makita-built brushless motor drives a variable speed control dial from 10,000 to 20,000 oscillations per minute, so you can slow down for precise plunge cuts or speed up for fast flush cuts. A 3.6 degree oscillation angle is engineered for faster, more aggressive cutting and sanding.
The StarlockMax interface accepts StarlockMax, StarlockPlus, and Starlock accessories, with tool-less blade changes. Because the tool takes all three Starlock tiers, you get the widest selection of compatible accessories in that family.
Anti-Vibration Technology uses an internal counterbalance system for up to 85 percent reduced vibration. Combined with a small-diameter barrel grip and soft start, the XMT04Z stays controlled and comfortable during long cuts.
At 12 inches long, the tool is compact for working in cabinets and between studs. A large on/off slide switch with a lock-on button keeps operation simple, and the built-in LED lights the work area.
Extreme Protection Technology is engineered for improved dust and water resistance, and Star Protection Computer Controls protect against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating.
