Overview
The Metabo HPT NR1875DDAQRY 18V Cordless Pneumatic Duplex Forming Nailer (model NR1875DDAQRY) is a battery-powered duplex nailer that drives double-head 6d, 8d, and 16d duplex nails, 2-1/4 in. to 3 in. long. This is a cordless duplex forming nailer designed for building concrete formwork, temporary bracing, and other assemblies that need to come apart later. It ships as a kit with an 18V/36V MultiVolt T-PWR Tabless battery and a quick charger.
Duplex nails have a second head above the first, which leaves a grip for a claw or bar when it is time to strip forms or remove bracing. Driving them by hand is slow, and running a compressor and hose on a form deck is a hassle. The NR1875DDA puts that job on a battery with Metabo HPT's sealed air spring drive and a brushless motor.
Metabo HPT rates it at up to 6 nails per second and 120 joules of driving energy, with up to 1,170 nails per charge on the included 10.0Ah battery. The included UC18YSL3Q1Y quick charger refills that battery in approximately 75 minutes. A 31-nail magazine, tool-less depth adjustment, and a dry-fire lockout keep it consistent from the first nail to the last.
At 7.5 lb without the battery, the tool is compact enough to work inside form walls and around bracing. A bump and sequential mode switch, an LED light, and both rafter and belt hooks are standard.
The magazine is swappable with other Metabo HPT cordless pneumatic strip nailers, and the tool shares the 384005M Wearable Parts Kit with the framing and connector nailers. The Maintenance Jig Kit (384003M) and Air Refill Valve (384002M) round out on-site service.
This kit fits concrete contractors, foundation crews, and general contractors who build forms, shoring, or temporary structures and want to stop hand-driving duplex nails or running a hose.

Pro Tip
Set the depth so the lower head seats tight against the form and the upper head stays fully exposed. Drive it too deep and you lose the stripping advantage that is the whole reason to use duplex nails.

Tool Nut's Take
Duplex Nailing Finally Cuts the Cord
The Metabo HPT NR1875DDAQRY takes the most hose-hostile job on site, form work, and puts it on a battery.
- Who it's for: Concrete and foundation crews and GCs who build forms and temporary bracing.
- Why it stands out: Pneumatic-style speed with 6d, 8d, and 16d duplex nails and up to 1,170 nails per charge.
- Worth knowing: The 31-nail magazine means more reloads than a framing nailer, and nails are not included.

Common Questions
- Does this nailer need an air compressor, hose, or fuel cell? No. The air spring drive system is sealed inside the tool and is powered by the 18V battery, so there is no compressor, hose, or gas cartridge to buy or haul.
- How many nails will I get per charge? Metabo HPT rates it at up to 1,170 nails per charge on the included 10.0Ah MultiVolt T-PWR Tabless battery.
- How fast can it fire? Up to 6 nails per second, according to Metabo HPT.
- Can the air spring be serviced in the field? Yes. Metabo HPT designed the line for on-site maintenance, with an optional Air Refill Valve (384002M), Maintenance Jig Kit (384003M), and a Wearable Parts Kit for replacing the driver blade and bumper without sending the tool to a service center.
- What nails does it take? Double-head duplex nails in 6d, 8d, and 16d sizes, 2-1/4 in. to 3 in. long, 0.131 in. diameter.
