Overview
The Micro Jig GRR-RIPPER 100AIR 3D Pushblock (model GR-100AIR) is the newest generation of MicroJig's GRR-RIPPER, built for woodworkers who want real control over small and narrow parts without putting their hands near the blade. This is a push block designed for ripping, routing and jointing stock safely on table saws, router tables, jointers and band saws.
The core idea is three directions of force. Downward pressure keeps the workpiece flat on the table, inward pressure holds it tight against the fence, and forward pressure feeds it through at a steady rate. Kickback happens when a board drifts off the fence and the back of the blade catches it. Because the 100AIR holds both sides of the cut parallel to the blade, that drift is virtually eliminated, and a consistent feed rate means fewer burn marks and blade marks on the finished part.
What's new in the AIR generation is the X-AIR Heel built into every leg. The heels compress and flex out of the way while the board is moving, then snap down to hook the tail end of the stock so you keep control through the last inch of the cut. Older GRR-RIPPERs relied on a separate Gravity Heel accessory for this job. On the 100AIR it is simply part of the leg.
The redesigned Center Leg forms a SafeRip tunnel. The blade passes through the tunnel while the legs on either side keep pressure on both the keeper piece and the off-cut, so neither side is left free to shift. Two orange SafeRip cursors and scale stickers come in the box to help position the Center Leg so the blade always runs through the tunnel, not into a leg.
Grip comes from MicroJig's proprietary Green GRR-RIP treaded surface. It holds hardwoods, softwoods, composites, plastics and aluminum, and the tread pattern keeps working even with sawdust on the table. The body is a specially formulated high-impact plastic that holds its shape but absorbs force if it ever contacts the blade, and it will not trigger the sensor on a SawStop saw.
The 100AIR is the essentials-only model in the AIR line: the handle and main body, three X-AIR legs (Center, 1/2-in. and 1/4-in.), the Balance Support, SafeRip cursors and mounting hardware. Right out of the box it can cut stock down to 1/4 x 1/4 in. on the table saw. It accepts the full range of GRR-RIPPER accessories, including the 1/8-in. Leg, Handle Bridge and Deflector/Connector, so it can grow with your shop.
Buy this if you want the safest everyday push block for rip cuts, router table work and jointing, and you don't need the Stabilizing Plate and Adjustable Spacer that come with the 200AIR. Woodworkers ripping long stock should consider a pair, since two GRR-RIPPERs let you feed hand over hand without stopping mid-cut.
Control Through the Last Inch
The X-AIR Heels flex up while the board moves, then drop down to catch the end of the stock so you never lose contact at the end of the cut.
- Heels are built into every leg - no separate heel kit to install
- Keeps forward pressure on the workpiece as the cut finishes
Three Directions of Force
A push stick only pushes. The 100AIR pushes the board forward, holds it down and pins it to the fence at the same time.
- Downward pressure keeps stock flat on the table
- Inward pressure against the fence virtually eliminates kickback
- Steady forward pressure reduces burning and blade marks

Pro Tip
Set the Center Leg with the SafeRip cursor: once the fence is set, slide the Center Leg so the measurement you're cutting is not under the orange cursor facing you. The cursor already accounts for blade width, so the blade will run through the tunnel, not into a leg.

Tool Nut's Take
Micro Jig GRR-RIPPER 100AIR 3D Pushblock: The New Baseline for Push Blocks
The Micro Jig GRR-RIPPER 100AIR keeps everything that made the original the shop standard and finally builds the heels in.
- Who it's for: Anyone ripping narrow parts, routing small stock or face-jointing who is still using a push stick.
- Why it stands out: Three-way control plus built-in X-AIR Heels and a SafeRip tunnel at the entry price of the AIR line.
- Worth knowing: It's the essentials model. If you want the Stabilizing Plate and Adjustable Spacer for wider stock, step up to the 200AIR.
Common Questions
- Will it trip the sensor on my SawStop? No. The plastic material will not trigger the SawStop safety mechanism.
- Can I use it with the blade guard on? No. The GRR-RIPPER passes over the blade, so nothing can be in the way. It acts as a moving blade guard itself.
- Why would I need two? For stock longer than your saw table. Two GRR-RIPPERs let you feed hand over hand without stopping, which prevents burning and blade marks.
- What if I cut into it? Every part is individually replaceable and compatible with all GRR-RIPPER models.
- How do I restore the grip? Clean the Green GRR-RIP surface with denatured alcohol, and keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight.
