Overview
The Micro Jig FITFINDER 1-1/4-in. Wave Reversible Glue Joint Router Bit with 1/2-in. shank (model MB-050-1250WV) cuts both halves of a self-aligning wave joint with one bit and one setup. This is a reversible glue joint router bit designed for edge-gluing doors, stair parts and wide panels on the router table.
Reversible means one setup handles both sides of the joint. Cut the first board, flip the mating board and cut again; the symmetric wave profile nests the halves together. The interlocking profile registers the boards to each other, so parts can't slide out of line under clamping pressure and panels come out of the clamps flush.
This bit carries two setup aids. The patented FITFINDER Center Platform is a reference surface machined into the bit that pairs with the FITFINDER 1/2 Gauge to center the profile on your stock on the first cut. The Fence Boss is a positioning surface milled into the bit body that sets the router table fence to the bit quickly and accurately, without fussing with a straightedge. Together they take the trial and error out of glue joint setup.
It handles stock from 1/4 in. (6 mm) to 1-1/4 in. (32 mm) thick and removes only about 0.100 in. (2.5 mm) per joint, much less than the 3/16 to 1/4 in. typical of glue joint bits, so you keep more width across a wide panel. The 1/2-in. shank gives the larger cutter the stiffness it needs in a router table.
The wave joint adds glue surface over a plain butt joint and looks better than tongue and groove, with the wave visible at the ends of a glue-up. It also works as a decorative edge profile. Buy this bit for router-table panel work, doors and stair parts. If you need to follow curves or run a 1/4-in. shank router, the 3/4-in. bit with sealed bearing is the one to pick.
Milled on the Router Table
The 1/2-in. shank and larger cutter are built for router-table work on doors, stair parts and wide panels.
- Stock 1/4 in. to 1-1/4 in. thick
- Removes about 0.100 in. (2.5 mm) per joint
Dial In Setup Without Test Cuts
The Center Platform gives the FITFINDER 1/2 Gauge a reference on the bit itself, and the Fence Boss sets the fence to match.
- Pairs with the FITFINDER 1/2 Gauge (sold separately)
- Fence Boss sets the fence without a straightedge
A Joint Worth Showing Off
The wave is visible at the ends of a glue-up and can also be run as a decorative edge profile.
- More glue surface than a butt joint
- Cleaner joint line than tongue and groove

Pro Tip
Set the fence off the Fence Boss before you touch the bit height. With the fence locked, use the FITFINDER 1/2 Gauge on the Center Platform to set height, then run every board with that one setup, alternating faces.

Tool Nut's Take
Micro Jig FITFINDER 1-1/4-in. Wave Reversible Glue Joint Router Bit: The Glue Joint Bit That Sets Itself Up
The Micro Jig FITFINDER 1-1/4-in. Wave Glue Joint Bit removes the guesswork that makes most glue joint bits a pain.
- Who it's for: Router-table users gluing up doors, stair parts and wide panels.
- Why it stands out: Center Platform plus Fence Boss means the first cut is the right cut.
- Worth knowing: It's a straight-edge bit with no bearing. For curves, get the 3/4-in. version.
Common Questions
- What makes it reversible? One bit, one setup, both halves of the joint. Cut the first board, flip the mating board and cut again. The symmetric wave profile nests the two together.
- What stock thickness does it handle? From 1/4 in. (6 mm) up to 1-1/4 in. (32 mm) thick.
- How much material do I lose per joint? About 0.100 in. (2.5 mm), versus the typical 3/16 to 1/4 in. other glue joint bits remove.
- Can it do more than glue joints? Yes. Run it as a decorative edge profile or cut wave surfaces for creative work.
