Overview
The Milescraft 2220 CornerChisel is a self-aligning corner chisel for finish carpenters, door hangers, cabinet makers and DIYers. This is a corner chisel designed for squaring the corners of routed hinge mortises. Model Number: 2220.
Routing a hinge mortise leaves rounded corners. Square-cornered hinges will not seat until those corners are cut out. The CornerChisel sits in the corner, aligns itself, and with a strike cuts a clean 90 degree corner.
The blade is hardened steel with a recessed edge. It is sized for door hinges and works in other square-corner mortise applications.
Buy it if you hang doors or install hinges and want square corners without freehand chisel work.

Pro Tip
Rout the mortise to full depth first, then square the corners. The chisel registers off the routed walls, so a clean mortise gives you a cleaner corner.
