Overview
The Mirka Goldflex Soft 4-1/2-in. x 5-in. P320 hand sanding pad roll (model 23-145-320) is a foam-backed abrasive for sanding profiled surfaces and irregular, hard-to-reach details by hand. This is a flexible foam sanding pad designed for hand sanding moldings, contours, edges and between-coat finish work. Each perforated roll holds 200 plain (no-hole) pads measuring 4-1/2" x 5" (115 x 125 mm).
P320 is a fine grit. It is the grit most finishers reach for when scuffing primer and sealer before a topcoat, knocking down raised grain between coats, and smoothing lacquer or paint ahead of finer refining steps. On a curved or detailed surface, the soft foam keeps the full face of the abrasive in contact with the work, so the scratch pattern stays even instead of digging in at the high spots.
The abrasive itself is Mirka's Gold-series construction: aluminum oxide grain on A-weight latex paper, resin-over-resin bonded with a semi-open coat. A stearate coating fights clogging, which matters at P320 where paint and lacquer dust loads fine grits quickly. The paper is laminated to a polyethylene foam layer that conforms to shape and distributes the pressure of your fingers across the pad.
Mirka lists Goldflex Soft as suitable for hardwood, softwood and resinous wood, veneer, MDF and HDF, plastics, primer, waterbased primer and sealer, UV primer, AC lacquer and other lacquers, and general paint sanding. That makes it a cross-trade pad: cabinet and furniture finishers use it on profiles and edges, and refinishers use it for scuffing and blending.
Buy this roll if you hand-sand a lot of profiled or detailed work and are tired of folding sheets around your fingers or burning through edges with a hard block. The 200-count roll is a shop-quantity pack sized for production finishing.
Gets Into the Details

Flat abrasive on a hard block rounds over crisp edges and skips the low spots on a molding. A foam-backed pad wraps the profile so every part of it gets the same scratch.
- Polyethylene foam laminated to A-weight latex paper
- Plain pad, no dust holes, for hand use
- Stearate coating resists clogging on primer and lacquer

Pro Tip
Let the foam do the work. Light, flat-hand pressure keeps the pad conforming to the profile; pressing hard with fingertips flattens the foam and puts you right back to sanding through edges.
Tool Nut's Take
The Finisher's Profile Pad
The Mirka Goldflex Soft P320 roll is the easy answer for scuffing and smoothing anything that isn't flat.
- Who it's for: Cabinet shops, furniture makers, trim carpenters and painters who hand-sand profiles, edges and between coats.
- Why it stands out: Gold-series anti-clog abrasive on a conforming foam back, in a 200-pad tear-off roll.
- Worth knowing: These are plain hand pads with no dust holes. For machine sanding with dust extraction, pick a disc or net abrasive instead.
