In less than just 5 milliseconds the Professional Cabinet Saw can sense when the blade contacts human skin, stopping the blade almost instantly and retracting it back into the saw before any serious injury can occur.

How does SawStop's safety system work?

1. Monitor & Detect

The blade carries a small electrical signal. When skin contacts the blade, the signal changes because the human body is conductive. The change to the signal activates the safety system.

2. Brake Activation

An aluminum brake spring sinto the spinning blade, stopping it in less than 5 milliseconds! The blades angular momentum drives it beneath the table, removing the risk for subsequent contact. The power to the motor is then shut off.

3. Reset

Resetting the saw yourself is easy. Simply replace the blade and affordable brake cartridge, and your saw is operational and ready to go. The entire reset process takes less than 5 minutes.
